About Digital Futures

Digital Futures is a program of technology-related projects that are increasing Curtin University’s digital capabilities and equipping key areas of the business to compete in the rapidly-evolving higher education marketplace. The expectations of students, researchers and staff are changing in light of the increasing use of digital technologies and capabilities around availability of information – anytime, anywhere and using any device. A personalised, interactive, intuitive and collaborative experience is now the norm.

Students want anywhere anytime access to learning

Digital Futures is enabling Curtin to keep pace with the changing environment and to better meet the needs of students and staff alike. Projects sit within three streams:

  • Corporate Services
  • Education
  • Research

Curtin’s new central website and homepage was a key deliverable for the Website Content Management (WCM) project under the Corporate Relations stream, which has now transitioned to Business as Usual. Features of the homepage include an improved design and easier navigation across multiple devices. Projects such as WCM and the new homepage are transforming the way staff work and how they interact with students and with each other, streamlining and simplifying workflows and providing easy access to information.

For Curtin staff, Digital Futures will provide timely access to information in an aggregated and well-presented form, enabling them to quickly identify results, trends, issues and successes in each area. The Digital Futures program also aligns to the University’s strategic themes by creating a personalised and intuitive learning experience that leverages our existing core student and learning management systems to deliver new and unique learning pathways.
